Last Day Of September!

I can't believe how fast September went! Can you?  I absolutely adore fall if you haven't already noticed! This week I will be excited to share some new editions to my shop!  Halloween Invitations! :) Yay! Can we say ghosts, bats, graveyards??? I love all that stuff! This weekend I started to decorate with my husband and I made my first batch of pumpkin muffins. The verdict was that they were good! :)
As you know I love to browse Etsy, and recently I picked up the Martha Stewart Halloween edition magazine. I needed some inspiration for decorating and just something to really get me in the mood! The weather has been kinda warm the last few days and I'm eager to feel the cold breeze of fall :)

While browsing I found this wonderful shop on Etsy called, Couture By Ayca. Ayca has an awesome shop filled with decor for all seasons, occasions and holidays! Here are a few of her items below and also make sure to check her shop out :) I just love the bats and she also has creepy Halloween spiders!

In the meantime I can't wait to share with you all my new Halloween Invites coming this week!-Danielle

Featured Shop: Knot and Bow-Simplistic and Colorful Packaging

Knot and Bow!

As you all know I love to browse Etsy and look through the wonderful handmade shops. As a fellow Etsy shop entrepreneur myself I think it's important to be in touch with other sellers and I have to say I have met so many wonderful sellers over Etsy in the past year. Everyone is so friendly, helpful, hardworking, and I'm excited to be apart of this community. Starting your own business is not easy but when you have a wonderful resource like Etsy to help it makes the journey much more fun, attainable and less scary! Plus the amount of networking it provides is truly unique.

As I was browsing this week I came across a wonderful  shop called, Knot and Bow created by Erin Ozer. As a woman in my 30s (which is yikes hard to believe!) I'm always particularly inspired by new mothers who start their own companies, shops or business. Knot and Bow is a beautiful shop that was created when Erin was on maternity leave and wanted to be home with her two year old son more.  It seems in this current generation the 9-5 working mothers is just not for everyone! What I noticed about Erin was she truly went after what she liked. She wrote in her interview that she had an idea that she loved and was interested in, explored it and that was it! She took that leap and trusted herself and people responded! Her shop has received a tremendous amount of press and has been featured in Bridal Guide, Lucky, New York Magazine, and more! It proves that if you go after what you believe in and what you love it works! People naturally are drawn to it :)

Knot and Bow thrives on packaging that is simplistic with a touch of color! If you read Erin's mission statement her shop is all about creating,"charming, uncomplicated and pretty packages." As an Etsy seller I love to create beautiful and quality packaging for my customers but sometimes it's difficult to find that certain texture or color in the regular stores. Knot and Bow solves this problem for me and for other sellers! Not only is her shop versatile but it is professional, and I love how she takes a simple brown paper package and makes it exciting! She also sells lovely and super colorful gift tags that has a color for every season and occasion, beautiful glitter twine, and gold stamped natural wood pencils! You can see that when you order from her shop you are getting something special that you can use anyway you like!

Be sure to check out her beautiful shop on Etsy, Facbook, and her Website!

She also has workshops located at her Brooklyn studio! Click here for more information!

Thanks all and happy reading!
Thanks to Erin from  Knot and Bow for letting me feature her on my blog!

At Home Pumpkin Spice Latte!

Yay its Friday!!!! We made it Unfortunately I'm sick in bed doped up on DayQuil. So not getting much art done today but it does give me a little time to relax and browse the web

I must say despite being sick I am beyond craving a pumpkin spice latte. The one's from Starbucks are totally amazing but can add up in price and calories. My friend Marilla who I've known since we were 12, started her own amazing baking company called Cupcake Rehab. You gotta check her out its quite impressive I drool over her pictures, and recipes. She updates her blog daily with endless advice on preserving, and where to buy the best apples and peaches! Anyway she found this awesome recipe for homemade PSL that you can alter to taste. She even breaks down the pricing for you so you can see how much you are saving by making it at home!

Check her post out here and her company! Don't say I didn't warn you about her amazing baked goodies!-Danielle

As you all know I'm adding some new features to my blog. Interviews, Handmade Shop Spotlights, Guest post..all new and exciting things. I felt like my blog needed a makeover and I wanted more of your participation, ideas, opinions and viewpoints Much more fun that way!

I love to browse through the Etsy shops in the morning while I sip on my coffee. I came across a wonderful shop this morning by Natalya. Natayla creates beautiful accessories from hats, scarfs, and coffee sleeves that she knits and crochets. I absolutely love all her items but my favorite one today is her Pumpkin Coffee Cozy Sleeve. It screams fall and makes me want to snuggle on my couch with my blanket a good book and nice warm cup of coffee. Or pumpkin spice latte. All her items are handmade and come in array of beautiful colors!

Fundrasier

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I wanted to a create a series of special cards for this cause and for a friend who is struggling with this disease. I too have been affected by this disease by loosing my aunt in 2005. My aunt loved angels and collected them so in honor of her instead of creating pink ribbon cards I created pink angels. I though it might be something a little different.

All of the proceeds from this series of cards will be going to Darlene's High Heels for Hope Team which will be participating in the Making Strides of Central Park, NYC on Sunday, October 20, 2013 as part of the American Cancer Society walk. Darlene's Team has raised over 800 dollars and has a goal of 2,500. I wanted to help her anyway I could and I thought this might be a wonderful way!

Now avaliable at My Etsy shop!

Have a great Monday everyone!-Danielle
