Color at Rockefeller Center

This is pretty funny. Usually I can look at a drawing and know the exact year that I did it. These drawings I have no clue! I was attempting to go through my studio today and clean it! I found this random sketchbook stuck in my bookshelf. I happened to open it and found a few pastel and watercolor drawings that I had done at Rockefeller Center.

I vaguely remember what I was trying to do this day but in any case I thought they were fun!

Introducing Love by Karella

This month I have launched my official online shop, Love by Karella! I'm very excited. Love by Karella was founded in August of 2011 but the idea was born many years ago. The shop will specialize in selling African -American greeting cards, Seasonal cards, and many others. In a few months hand painted silk scarves will also be available.

The first line of greeting cards will be available on Send a Smile and in addition e-cards and invites will be available on Pingg.

As I think about it already being August that means the last month of summer is winding down and the warm air will soon be leaving. I like to hold onto every last bit of summer as much as I can!  With that being said to share my love of summer I would like to introduce my first collection of cards,  Summer and Paris.  This collection will be available throughout the month of August so stop by and send a bit of warm air and romance to someone you love!

Best,
Danielle C. McManus

Sonoma Valley

I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Seattle and California last month with the Dalvero Academy. It was my first time visiting the west coast and it was everything I thought it would be. Seattle was gorgeous! Especially the smell of the clean air and trees. Unforgettable.

While in California we traveled to Sonoma Valley wine country. The colors there were a painters dream! I often had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to paint next!

I will continue to post more from my west coast trip. -Enjoy!
